Every believer engaging with Jesus and His Great Commission is what we’re all about.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
MISSION FEST BC VISION
Activating Ambassadors
MFBC was founded by local churches praying and working together to reach the nations. It’s actually a challenge to find any meaningful missionary movement in history that did NOT begin with collaborative work from multiple churches. Partnership with local churches is part of the Mission Fest DNA.
Mission Fest BC has four specific objectives that guide the conference as we seek to activate ambassadors of Jesus Christ—so that the unreached can be reached as soon as possible!
Galvanize Christians
Boldly reminding Christians of the good news that every single one is called and gifted and sent by Jesus.
-
The Great Commission is a clear command to all Christians to go and make disciples. If we’re all called to missions, then the question each of us must ask is: how is the Lord asking me to participate? Mission Fest BC is one of the best places to ask that question and find clear answers.
-
We gather missionaries from all over the world and invite them to share what they see the Lord doing with local churches, other missionaries, and the general public, so that more believers can:
Hear from and build relationships with missionaries
Consider what their own role is in God’s work in the world to reach the unreached
Discern where to direct their prayers, their wealth, their resources, and their gifts and abilities
Inspire Generations
Multiplying and equipping the movement through testimony-sharing and discipleship.
-
How can I live a meaningful life? How can I make a difference in the world? How will new generations hear about missions? How will they hear about ministries that are a unique fit just for them? How will they see Jesus’ radical love for them, for all peoples, and all nations?
In a generation flooded with artificial answers, it’s critical to answer deep questions like this in the most undeniable, authentic way possible—for us, that means elevating firsthand testimonies, in person. Missionaries who have seen the Lord at work, looking you in the eye, telling you what they’ve seen and how you can see it, too.
-
Mission Fest BC is a vehicle for planting seeds—seeds that the Lord waters and grows both now and in decades to come. We’ve been building relationships with schools, missionaries, local churches, nonprofit agencies, and networks for over 40 years so that the next generation can:
Hear from real missionaries gathered in one place
Meet the 60+ missions agencies that come every year to see what’s out there
Participate in a Youth Rally where they encounter the love of Jesus
Expand their view of the world through talks, worship, and interacting with missionaries
Start to see the global story God is writing, and how they might fit into it
Build Bridges
MFBC was founded by local churches working together. Collective impact, awareness of the rest of the body of Christ, humble and active collaboration—these things remain central to our approach to mission.
-
Many bridges are needed between Christians, missionaries, local churches, nonprofit agencies, and networks so that they can grow in alignment with the Lord’s big picture strategy for the world.
Mission Fest BC has been honoured to serve as one of those bridges for over 600 agencies, 200 churches, and tens of thousands of people over our history. When we work together as one body in Christ, we can more effectively reach the world for Him. More souls hear the gospel, encounter the love of Christ, and experience the Lord’s justice and mercy.
-
Collaboration and Relational Strength
We don’t try to tell experienced missionaries, agency leaders, and church leaders how to do their ministry. Instead, we invite everyone into the same room to seek the Lord together so that they can:
Collaborate and strengthen one another
Provide an opportunity to connect in-person in order to realign with a renewed and unified vision for the mission
Build relationships and be equipped through talks, connection points, worship, sharing resources, and more
Show unity and momentum to the believers in BC, drawing them into the missional heart of God
Love Jesus
Experiencing what started it all for each of us—the love of Jesus. His love changes us, and we change the world. We patiently wait for the Lord, seeking Him with all our heart, believing that He loves to meet with us and fill us again for the work He’s calling us to. Gathering together as a expression of Jesus’ global church is one of the best parts of MFBC!
-
Sustainable, sacrificial, and fruitful kingdom work can only truly be catalyzed when a Christian’s heart is centred on and convinced of the love of Christ. The only way to learn the love of Jesus is to experience it firsthand. When we forget His love after many years of service, the refreshing reminder we need comes that same way: tasting and seeing that the Lord is good.
-
We see contending for an encounter with the person of Jesus Christ as absolutely vital and we champion the love of Jesus in everything we do:
From the welcome at the door to the worship sessions on the main stage
We make sure all of our talks are centred on the love of Jesus
We have people available to pray and connect and seek Jesus with you throughout the conference
Our culture at MFBC prioritizes a love relationship with Jesus. It’s what we pray for, and it’s why we embrace worship sessions with expectancy
Mission Fest BC is brought to you by a parent organization called Mission Central.
Mission Central’s mission is to inspire and send new generations of missionaries into local communities and around the world, to encourage existing missionaries, and to connect them with one another and the local church.
